Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhat are the odds Trump has talked to some Generals behind the scenes
for a military coup to keep him in office? I'd would say the odds are pretty high. I have no evidence of this, but based on Trumps behavior it definitely something he would do.

(26,045 posts)Im guessing hes hoping his supporters invade the Capitol on 1/6, giving him the pretext he needs to invoke the Insurrection Act. Im hoping that they tell him that, although he can order them into the streets to maintain order (which, frankly, would be a legal order) until noon on 1/20, thats all he can do, and they wont be part of any scheme to re-run last Novembers election in states he lost.

Trump never has a plan. He reacts to events then lurches from one thing to another, usually undercutting himself in the process.
Planning a military take over of the United States would require an awful lot of work and total silence by a lot of people. Trump could never orchestrate something that big and intricate.
At least that's what I hope.

by small aircraft for a while. They might want to avoid drinking tea as well.
