on Jan 19th. And the use of an AF 757 Aircraft to do so. That is in the realm of possibility as he is still president. But my guess is that the AF aircraft would not go any further except to return to the US on the 20th.
So watch the movement of Trump's private 757. If it moves to Scotland a day or two before the 19th then we know he's moving onward. To where we don't know or how the UK lockdown will come into play.
Just a thought.

(31,220 posts)I think the overall point is to watch what his private 7575 does.

(51,636 posts)"Country exemptions
Since 10 July 2020 you may not have to self-isolate when you arrive or return to Scotland from the below list of countries and territories. This is because these countries have similar or lower levels of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection to Scotland (known as the travel corridor exemption), or are within the Common Travel Area (UK, Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man)."
*The US is NOT on the exempt list which means he will have to self isolate when he arrives there.
"If the country you are arriving from is not on the below list then you will need to fill in the passenger locator form and self-isolate when you arrive. If you arrive in Scotland from a non-exempt country you will need to complete your self-isolation period of 10 days even if the non-exempt country you departed from is added to the exemption list within this 10 day period."
"If you depart from an exempt country and your journey includes a transit stop through a non-exempt country, you will need to self-isolate if you interact with others in that non-exempt country."
*of course the fucking moron doesn't think any rules apply to him so he will probably thumb his nose at Scotland too.

What are the rules on travel?
People living under level three or four restrictions should not travel outside their own local authority area for anything other than "essential" reasons.
The exceptions to this law include travelling for work, education, outdoor exercise, healthcare or caring responsibilities, essential shopping or visiting someone in your extended household.
It is illegal to travel between Scotland and other parts of the UK unless the journey is essential.
The Scottish government strongly advises against non-essential foreign travel, and the tougher restrictions mean that non-essential travel into and out of Scotland is prohibited.

(206,145 posts)We know that he's extremely unpopular there and I sure hope that he'll be told he's not welcome - there's a lockdown and no exception will be made for him to play golf.

(11,797 posts)Northern Ireland and Wales were already in one, and Scotland, then the UK, issued lockdowns yesterday. These will last until mid-February at least. We are not permitted to leave our homes except for a few circumstances.
Travel is highly restricted (but possible). For example, if I wanted to return to the US, I'd have to test going out and quarantine on arrival in New York. Coming this way, testing at Heathrow is a possibility so that I could avoid 14 day quarantine (testing would cut it to maybe 5 days). But it is possible in theory to travel to the UK.
