Trump got his ass kick by a Black Woman and he can't deal with that simple fact.
I said it before and I will say it again and again. Stacy Abrams should have been Time's Person of the Year.
You need only listen to her speak to begin to grasp what a serious, competent, determined person she is.

Just WOW!
Stacey Abrams is a powerhouse! A force to he reckoned with!
Ty, Stacey!!!
PS - If her efforts deliver the Senate in today's election, this could push agent orange over the edge!

(102,383 posts)and it was (in his mind) the ultimate Confederate stronghold, now that VA has gone blue for several cycles. So, I think this, plus the fact his campaign never even considered losing GA is what has him rankled. Sure he detests Stacy (and all those AA who voted against HIM), but I think he considered himself the leader of the "rise again, Confederacy" movement and all that that entails.

(1,577 posts)That Stacey Abrams is a great person. But, Times Person of the Year should be the first responders, doctors, nurses, etc. Stacey should be the next DNC Chairman.

(18,486 posts)DNC chair under a Democratic president is a nothing job - a mere figurehead/functionary reporting to the president's people, which is way beneath her.
ALBliberal
(2,346 posts)transformational. And Stacey would be as well. I think it depends on who is the DNC chair.
StarfishSaver
(18,486 posts)That's a different thing. The DNC chair under a Republican president is essentially the head of the party, determines the party strategy and calls the political shots.
But when a Democrat is president, the president and his campaign team are in charge of the party and, as I said, the DNC chair is little more than a functionary who just implements the strategy set by the White House. That is not a position for someone like Stacey Abrams. I don't think there's any way in hell she'd take the job and I sincerely doubt Biden would insult her by offering it to her.

(22,052 posts)Another reason could be that Georgia, unlike other swing states, has a Republican governor, a Republican Secretary of State and a Republican dominated legislature. If there were any state that Trump could flip the votes, Georgia would be his best shot.
But, as with every endeavor of his pathetic life, Trump will fail at this, too.
He's dangerous but he's also an idiot.

(4,012 posts)...to him and swing the votes away from President Biden (what a nice ring to it, eh?) and give him GA's votes.
Strangely, even if he succeeded, he's still lose the EC vote anyway. Makes no sense but hey, it's Trump!

(1,336 posts)in the other swing states (he invited the Michigan Reps to the WH).
It may well have been his visceral hatred for Abrams, but since all the other states turned him down, he thought maybe, just maybe, he could exert enough influence on the Georgia Repubs. But it still wouldn't have been enough, so I'm thinking if they "found" more votes he would be "justified" in his claim of election fraud.
Tomorrow will be a circus, for sure. Let's hope the circus tent collapses on the lot of them and buries them in traitorous notoriety.

I think youre right about Trumps obsession with Georgia. He probably thought that Georgia would be the path of least resistance and the most easily explained since hes banking on the racism there. He brought her up in that call (I think thats where I heard it), saying that the Republicans there were afraid of her. So we know she was on his mind.

(583 posts)...and should have any job in the Democratic politisphere she wants. Like Howard Dean did so many years ago, she showed that when Democrats show up and compete hard, it pays off. Having a new 50 State Strategy is going to be necessary if the Democrats are going to maintain what they have, much less increase their numbers. There's no doubt she'd be an effective party chair.

(16,616 posts)the anger and anxiety of Republicans to pressure the governor, SoS and election officials to give Trump what he wants. That is not possible in any other state, because all the other elections are over. The senate race is a huge deal.
He even got Purdue and Loeffler to call for the resignation of some top officials.

(2,850 posts)I don't doubt that Stacie Abrams played a part in his inability to accept losing GA, but my assumption is that there are other phone calls like the one to Raffisburger.
He tried to corrupt people in MI too. He called the republicans in charge of certifying the Wayne county vote directly, and we don't have audio for those calls.
You aren't wrong, but I think the most correct answer is that he felt entitled to all these states, and hes furious that he didn't get something he felt entitled to.

(32,777 posts)... until Stacey Abrams shone her white-hot spotlight on it. We all know that Abrams would be the governor of Georgia right now, if it weren't for voter suppression. But she didn't give up and slink away, she's in there punching hard for every Democratic vote.
I think Chump has miscalculated how effective Stacey Abrams can be in inspiring new young voters to be registered and ready to take up her fight. The Repukes have found their hill to die on, and it's all happening this week.
Thank you Stacey Abrams for making this happen. I'm so glad you're on the good guys' team!

(8,759 posts)AZ, MI, WI, and PA all have Democratic SoS. If Trump's minions reached out, they likely were told to fuck off.
NV has a Republican SoS, Barbara Cegavske, but the GOP isn't flirting with her.
So Brad is the one guy who might pick up the phone and do something.
Yes Stacey Abrams is a major factor. Give the number of times Trump complained about her in that call, she's living rent free in his head right now. But also Trump thinks he can apply his leverage on GA because of party affiliation. Stacey is just a component off the toxic slop that is Trump's brain.
