(24,411 posts)Glad Rachel is tackling this.
If Romney cheated, we need to know.
The only way we will ever know is if the video footage (shot behind Romney) can be seen--from the beginning to the end of the debate.
That's they only way this will be resolved. If that footage can be zoomed in, we can examine if he did have written notes on that podium---that he brought it. We'll be able to see whether the white, square object was indeed a hanky or notes or notes wrapped in a hanky.
The back-of-Romney footage would reveal ALL of that, and zooming in at the most critical times would show for sure, what happened
Also, enhancing the audio at the end--when the Romney family is gathering post-debate--would also be helpful.
Without that back-of-Romney footage---there is no way to resolve this and we might as well move on.
This is only worth pursuing if it can be resolved. Otherwise it's another unproductive "we said/they said" that goes nowhere.
There was video shot of the back of the candidates. i remember seeing several cuts of it throughout the debate. We didn't see all of it, but the camera in back of Romney and Obama ran the entire time.
Anyone know how to get a hold of that? Would CSPAN have it?

(17,651 posts)I honestly want to know.
This guy asks American people to trust him but he's not once, ever given us any reason to do so. With everything we've learned about Mitt Romney we know for a fact that he is completely untrustworthy!!
Resolve it!

(1,185 posts)and who knows, it may have just said "Dad". But it was so juvenile it probably wouldn't have made the cut to the Principal's office.
