I went over to Free Republic

not going to link

but they are in despair. Calling for secession, one said "America dies with a whimper", "it is the end of America"

one of them fears they are going to be put in camps

but this one makes me smh the most

I am worried.

But I selfishly take comfort in a couple of small things.

1. My wife’s on Social Security and I’ll be going on it in a few years. I believe The Dems are not going to cut it. They’ll find a way to shore it up. GOP has too many rank and file members and officials (like Rick Perry) who denounce Social Security as a “Ponzi scheme”. Those people (many on Freerepublic) obviously don’t support it and the GOP that uses that “Ponzi” term can’t be trusted not to gut it - for example by raising the eligibility age to 69 or 70 - even though nobody will hire people in that age group, so this would deny social security to people who have no other income and no way to get employed

2. Right now my family could use that $2k stimulus that Trump supported but Mitch blocked. We’ve been hurt financially in ways that are directly due to the covid . The Dems say that passing the $2k which Mitch blocked will be their first order of business. We’ll see, but at least they don’t deride it as “socialist” - a term that makes no sense from a government that showers other countries with handouts.

3. Also, Biden said he would deliver the infrastructure program that Trump promised in 2016 but was blocked by Mitch and Paul Ryan. Our roads bridges and airports are crumbling, as candidate Trump said in 2016. If it takes Democrats to act on something like Trumps vision, I’ll take it

All that said, I fear what the Dems will do to undermine religious freedom, free speech, sanity and safety in our schools, the sovereignty of our borders, the security of our neighborhoods.

I’m not too concerned about huge tax increases, since Wall Street owns Biden and was his biggest contributor

Every time I go to one it's like covered in mold, plasters falling off the walls ... I feel like I'm in like Somalia or some shit ...

But, it was Trumps vision to fix all that ... remember the awesome Infrastructure Bill he authored?

who switched to Trump. But sure, realizing that we never stopped trying.

After all, these guys spent their whole lives benefitting from what liberalism and progressive government brought them, and it wasn't rejection of that which drew them to the anti-government white/male power party. Democrats are still the party of just too much equality -- women, race, gender, immigrant, religion, and we couldn't message the backtracking to that that they wanted.

But the other side of the fence has turned into a holocaust. That message they're getting, and we're amplifying it, though we should credit the Republicans for its...un-ignorabilty.
