Dave Letterman, Friday, October 5, 2012, 2349 EDT
During a bit about comedic "Zogby Poll" results regarding the debate, between actual scripted lines, Dave looks into the camera and, very seriously, says "I believe we will find out that Mitch Rmoney has paid no federal taxes at all," after which he muttered the line in the thread title.
I love Dave.

(15,682 posts)Does anyone know? We should. He has been true blue to the cause and really does deserve to know how much we appreciate him. I think about this every time someone posts about another one of his gems.
It'd be fun if he got a bunch of thank-yous from us, all at once.

(1,185 posts)If he wasn't a felon, IMHO, he'd show us his returns, rather than "Flipping us The Bird". Sorry, Big Bird, no offense, the other "bird".

(205,503 posts)He says he'll take him any way he can get him, even if it's the whole family. Or the others can wait in the car; he doesn't care, LOL. He's said that any winning candidate has appeared on his show, and Obama has, so if Romney won't show up, nobody should vote for him, and he's going to lose...
I've been in his audience and he's really a very nice guy. He talks to the audience beforehand, then comes out after the show to say thank you. And he's been doing this for 30 years...

(17,380 posts)The dog turd would have to be at least 35 years old and born in the USA. But yeah, once those requirements are met, that would make the quintessential GOP candidate.

(67,808 posts)He calls him "Mitch" as if he (Dave) is a little old or a little confused or as if Mitch is so unimportant that he can't recall his name. In all cases, getting a person's name wrong really is a huge dismissal.

(23,973 posts)I'm not going to say that I have a brother who is an attorney who, in an adversarial situation, will deliberately mis-pronounce your name or call you by a different name, then do it again even after being corrected by the other person...but I do.
When your adversary gets upset and angry at the slight, he loses focus on what's important and can only think what a jerk you are...and you've just gained an advantage.
