I guess you could call it the Jed Clampett Defense, although it is familiar to anyone who spends time with "old timers" steeped in rural culture. When you are faced with a city slicker spraying bullshit with a fire-hose, these 2 simple words say it all
Do Tell!!
Perhaps the President could have played it more skillfully - but it seems to be workin'.

(7,724 posts)I was actually pondering strategies to combat the Gish Gallop, I'll post when I bring any to mind. I always think humor works, it's the perfect way to make Mittfalca look like the full of shit fool that he is.

(7,724 posts)who, I was told, when she flipped out on him, or family, random people, her verbal attack style was similar to this. I finally got to witness it one evening when I dropped their daughter off late.
It's incredibly overwhelming, intimidating. She was standing in the middle of the street waiting as I drove up. I looked her in the eye to indicate I wasn't afraid (though I was), just pasted an amused expression on my face and proceeded to ignore her as she ranted. What Mittfalca did isn't exactly yelling abusively, but, it's comparable. This is what bullies do.
I hate bullies, one of the reasons I could never, ever, be a Republican.
