1. These people are Trumps SA. They have been incited by their political leader ( Trump) to assault the Citadel of Liberty . They are criminals and insurrectionists.

2. These insurrectionists continue to occupy Capitol grounds. They must be removed. The fall of the Capitol is egregious. The leadership of the Capitol Police should be relieved of duty immediately and capable leaders should be appointed immediately.

(2,272 posts)I agree with everything he says. Invoke the 25th. Cruz should be censured at a minimum and stripped of any and all committee positions he holds. What we saw and heard from the capital today was nothing less than treason period.

(15,555 posts)And those idiots were allowed to carry assault rifles in. Our legislature is majority GOP, so you know they aren't going to do anything to stop open carry in Lansing. They threatened our Governor and her family and yes, some of them are being arrested and prosecuted. This episode should have been a red flag that they will stop at nothing.

Someone let it happen.

(13,561 posts)Invoking 25th amendment but if that doesnt happen then possibly impeachment so he can never run for federal office again!!!
I think he and his slimy kids can kiss any aspirations of political careers good-bye, especially Princess Iwanka.

I also don't see 16 Republican Senators.

(2,856 posts)President-Elect Biden hasn't named a person for AG as yet.
Now, especially after today's utter lawlessness, he must absolutely nominate a completely unwavering, nearly ruthless pit bull prosecutor for AG and go after everyone that played even a small part in inciting this clusterfuck. These Trumpdrunks are violent lunatics and beyond redemption. There's no gray area here. Imprisonment for all!

(17,986 posts)How about expulsion....
Article I, Section 5, of the United States Constitution provides that "Each House [of Congress] may determine the Rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member." Since 1789, the Senate has expelled only fifteen of its entire membership.
Remove the insurrectionists?
How about...
18 U.S. Code § 2383 - Rebellion or insurrection
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
I think 10 years is a bit light. Ought to be a capital crime, since they're so passionate about capital punishment.
