Yet Mitt Romney gave a great speech. He did. Fact.
This coming from a Massite that hated him as our Governor.

You picked a great day to say that. I needed that more than you know.
Love you, blm.

(23,334 posts)He forgave my senator Steve Daines and I am not willing to do that. Daines was a seditious asshole as late as this morning. No. Just no.

(13,582 posts)Im struck by how much older he looks now than when he ran for President.

(2,786 posts)but you should be reminded Mitt 47% Romney is still a dirt bag, republicans went out and found the worlds biggest dirt bag in Donald Trump and now Romney looks like a nice guy and a man of integrity by comparison.

(83,846 posts)I do not need to be reminded of it. He was my Governor and was an elitist ass.
I am giving him credit for something he said today and not everything he has done in the past or may well do in the future.

(15,548 posts)I posted in another thread that I'm impressed with how he's conducted himself throughout this whole election debacle. I'm not saying I would vote for him, but he's the only decent GOPer in Congress.

(26,335 posts)And I felt somewhat sorry for him in that airport.
At least he voted to remove that prick Trump. Which is more than the rest of the repigs can say.

(8,813 posts)democracy and against the actions of Trump.
I suspect for Romney like McConnell and Pence are providing shade on themselves so as to have a political future independent of their support for Trump. Romney has not sunk to the depths of the others. Even Lindsey Graham this evening says that the individuals that carried out the insurrection should be punished to the full extent of law. Will be interesting to see once Biden is in office if these GOP individuals will be so bi-partisan.

(47,560 posts)but he does have his moments. When he's right, he's right. He gave an impressive speech during the impeachment hearings as well.

(63,221 posts)Kind of funny since I just went on his website and thanked him for his honor and integrity. I did say that I disagreed with him politically, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due. He went out on a limb, and I must say I admire him for his decency.
BTW, I am also a MA resident, however was on the west coast during the Romney years. So I never voted for him, but I have no ill will for him. He is a decent person as far as I can tell. Well, for a republican, anyway.
sheshe2
(83,846 posts)No, I never voted for him either. He was a absentee Gov, just like Weld.
He did good for once...twice with his impeachment vote. For those I give him credit.
