I know I maxed it for the "primary" time frame in September just before the nominating convention but wow. Just wow.

(17,651 posts)The only thing that makes me sad is that it takes so much money to run a campaign and to be competitive. Citizens United made it 1000000x worse.
Think how all that political capital could be used to actually help people - that's what saddens me about all of it.
On a brighter note: Good job everyone!! Let's try to give him what he needs to win this thing!

(12,882 posts)and what inspires me to do so is the BIG MONEY that sneers at us peons. Sure there's some unfathomable cash ante'd up by mega-wealth. But we peons can outdo them with nickles and dimes if we just pull together. $181 Mil says just that! Woo-Hoo!

(10,942 posts)If you have the money available. If you don't, you can contribute what you can to the General Campaign for President Obama. The Obama campaign keeps good records, I maxed out for the Primary period and when I started contributing to the General Campaign, the Obama team correctly allocated the money to the General. I am maxed out for both now.
I advise everyone that wants the President to win this thing to contribute whatever you can, the most beautiful contribution that I saw was the lady that contributed $15 when her family surely could have used that money for other needs. This election is too important to the country and the world that we live in for one to sit idle watching. Billionaires certainly aren't sitting idle funding Romney. This race is going to get horribly rough down the homestretch, please help make sure that President Obama is funded well enough to put up a good fight and win this monumentally important election.
