If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

I thought it would be good to review the actual requirements for sedition under US law. There is also § 2383 "Insurrection or rebellion", but it carries a lesser penalty (10 years), but does prevent holding office after conviction.

(2,284 posts)Since a death occurred as the result of the felony, that death can be ruled a murder while committing another felony. It does not matter whether the death was an insurrectionist, congressperson, police officer, or other civilian employee. The underlying crime makes the death a murder.
They will sing like canaries when told the alternatives are a lethal injection or long prison sentences.
We will quickly see how high up this went when they get real about the charges. It took weeks for Nixon's henchman to turn on each other. These wannabes will give up the whole enchilada before inauguration day. Which is important, because there is no doubt in my mind that these clowns are planning another attack on or around the inauguration.
