I wonder if a failed coup attempt had anything to do with it or if they just got religion late in life?

You can't undo what has been done.

the FBI/DoJ take an interest in a wrongdoer is to STOP the wrongdoing, immediately, dissociate. Show them the problem of you is over, in hopes they choose to leave it there without investing more time and money.

We've all learned so much about white collar crime and criminals since Trump was elected.

There's some incendiary language in there that isn't part of the usual motion to withdraw as counsel in a lawsuit. Lawyers represent repugnant clients all the time, and it's not unheard-of for a lawyer to fundamentally disagree with the client's wishes, but still continue in representation. But it's highly unusual in a civil suit for a lawyer to say that his client has used him to perpetrate a crime. What crime is that, Mr. Marcus? Have you gone to the District Attorney or the U.S. Attorney with your evidence of this crime? If not, why not?

When trump is investigated, indicted, arrested, tried, and, ideally, convicted, who the hell will he get to represent him?

Will any (for lack of a better word) responsible law firm take the risk of taking trump on as a client? I mean, sure, there are RWNJ law firms, and I guess these on in trump's contacts on his phone, but these firms don't send their best lawyers. They may not send rapists and criminals, but these are not people who graduated in the top half of their law school classes. Plus, and this is a big one, trump doesn't pay people. Giuliani? Hell, he'll be at the defendant's table of the same and/or different trials. Wood, Powell, Ellis, et al?

I mean, what more or less normal lawyer wouldn't find trump repugnant. I know, lawyers often represent repugnant clients, but I would think trump is just one scumbag too far.

Hey, maybe he'd Better Call Saul.

You have a duty to represent your client, and until a motion to withdraw is granted, you are bound by confidentiality. This lawyer is accusing his client of committing a crime and using him to do it.

Jerome Marcus took on Trump as a client knowing what Trump is and how he operates...and now it's safe to withdraw because his rancid client is weak and under fire...
