Carly Fiorina calls on GOP to 'excise' Trump from party after rioting at Capitol

Former GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina is urging Republicans to expunge President Trump from the party following Wednesday's rioting at the Capitol by his supporters.

"Republican officials and Republicans everywhere must finally repudiate Donald Trump and excise him from the Republican Party," Fiorina, who ran for president in 2016, wrote in a series of tweets Thursday morning. "And Cabinet members and elected officials everywhere must always be willing to speak truth, even when it is inconvenient; to stand for principle, even when it is politically perilous; and to act as necessary when action is required."

Fiorina, a former CEO at Hewlett-Packard who also launched an unsuccessful Senate bid in California, has been a frequent critic of Trump.
