Corporations are an apex predator

What happened, in evolution history, when an apex predator goes extinct? Diversity. Many other species rush in to compete for and fill the niche in the food chain. For decades, corporations have been holding a gun to the Peoples' head. Give us tax cuts or we'll go away. Lower the minimum wage, or we'll ship overseas. Get rid of regulations, or we'll go to a country with less oversight. But the fact is, the gun isn't loaded. It's a bluff. And I say call the bluff. Even if they do follow through with these threats, what happens? It might hurt for a while, but then entrepreneurs and mom and pop operations will rush in to fill the niche in the economy. Diversity. Community-oriented business. People working with people for mutual benefit.
