We are in a pandemic.

We are still dealing with the most significant computer hack of the US government in history.

We had a domestic terrorist attack on the US Capitol yesterday.

Congress is on vacation for the next two weeks.

To allow him to get away with instigating insurrection is beyond the pale and makes Congress appear weak, indecisive and divided. It gives Trump the upper hand.
If the United States Congress cannot find common ground on whether or not to allow insurrection, we are lost. They must get their shit together and either stop this mess or quit pretending that it matters.
