Self pardon?

If Trump pardons himself it makes it politically easier to prosecute him as it is an implicit admission of guilt as well as a gross assault on the pardon process. Courts would have to decide if it's constitutional.

It's a gamble he might take though.

2. The argument you don't prosecute prior administrations carries some weight.

I don't necessarily endorse it but a self pardon vitiates that norm.

The best Trump can hope for with a DC jury is a hung trial.

for himself or others would protect him/them if the federal crime is still ongoing.

Federal or State charges are fine with me as either one of them will keep tRump from campaigning in any state in 2024 where he can be arrested and jailed. I think he can be tried in absentia in multiple states if Florida refuses to extradite.

Personally, I think he will resign and/or flee the country soon.

IMHO.
