I was complaining loud and long about Obamas debate performance. Only now in hindsight do I see the strategies brilliance. He let Romney get so overconfident he actually threatened to fire both the moderater and Big Bird on national t.v..
Romneys bullying only reinforced the impression we got of him from the 47% tapes. I owe President Obama an apology. There is such a thing as 11 dimensional chess, and he played it brilliantly.

(4,734 posts)... and I fail to see how my little paragraph is "clogging up G.D., or how it merited such a hostile response. Seeing President O responding to Rmoneys lies in his speeches and the wonderful news of the drop in unemployment had me high. Guess some people just love to bust my groove...

You're finding silver linings in the dark cloud but I'm quite sure that looking like a door mat wasn't the strategy.

(4,734 posts)... someone wiser than me gave a great explanation - "he let Romney be Romney" - Romney tried to come across as a kinder, gentler shark and when O let him run with it, he overstepped his play act and threatened the freaking moderator and Big bird. Followed up with the new job numbers, I think Romney is trying to wash the taste of canvas out of his mouth right about now.

(4,734 posts)and am set to vote Democratic all the way down the ticket in November here in Pa. Was listening to "Whadda ya know" on NPR today and laughed my ass off when he said "in the news today, Pa. voters no longer have to prove they are related to William Penn"...
