maybe that USCP officer wasn't evil, and the "directing" he was doing was to get them going in the wrong direction? I mean, from the tweet the directions weren't any good.

after giving them the wrong directions. Entirely too helpful in my opinion.

There was an earlier thread that mentioned that a few European security heads think it was a staged coup attempt as no major Capitol's security would ever be that lax.
