Not so fast, DeVOS (CHAO, et al.) - Is it integrity resigning or is it avoiding 25th Amend?!

Note to all the rats jumping from the sinking ship: Uh, that ship has sunk!

Or, since I'm at it in imputing motives, is it that DRUMPF's stakeholders have drained all they could out of him, so pffft!1

DeVos Resigns As Education Secretary, Says, 'Impressionable Children Are Watching'

.... She called the riots "unconscionable," and contrary to the president's efforts to downplay his role in fomenting the unrest, DeVos said she believed "there is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is the inflection point for me." ....

In resigning, DeVos will avoid one uncomfortable possibility: being asked to join other Cabinet secretaries in invoking the 25th Amendment to prematurely remove Trump from office, though it's not clear there is enough support, with or without DeVos, for such an effort to succeed.

conspiracy theorist, but I'm beginning to wonder if some of those paramilitary-looking terrorists who stormed the Capitol are connected to Erik Prince & Blackwater.

They belonged to Prince and Blackwater.

If there’s anything to this theory it makes sense that Trump pardoned them.

They know the 25th isn't going to happen.

Self interest, that's all that there is to them.

They want to not be named accomplices. White House counsel was telling staff to distance (at least) to avoid the possibility of being implicated in Dump’s sedition. These cabinet members simply don’t want to be in that danger zone any longer. They want to be out of the limelight. They don’t want to discuss or document 25th Amendment unfitness, because it would show what insanity they have coddled for 4 years. They are eager for a couple years of obscurity, having lost nothing since they’d have no jobs in under 2 weeks anyway.

Pure self-interest. Trying to put a little distance there, so they can later say, "I knew all along he was nuts, but stayed to try to contain him." Which we all know to be bullshit.

Certainly I never credited them with integrity. It was commentary on how the news items are making it sound like the motives for resigning are from high mindedness suddenly discovered, like there are some wingnuts who aren't so bad.

We are saying much the same thing. If you can't have a discussion where people have their own opinions, then perhaps you need to reconsider what you are saying online. My comment was meant initially as much as a joke and as an aside, than anything else. Any other interpretation is on you.

Andm, I HATE it when people are arrogant and dismissive and say "just let it go", so in this case, any response from you other than "I'm sorry, I misinterpreted your statements", will result in a block

And they weren't watching when brown children were being put into cages, or peaceful protesters were being gassed and shot with 'less lethal projectiles', or seeing and hearing what came out of the anus-mouth of a President that lies as casually as most breathe?

*NOW* you decide to think about 'the children'?

Are you fucking kidding? You propped up this asshole for the past 4 fucking years.

You are an absolute fucking monster.

I hope all of your goddamn yachts sink.

If they had true courage they’d stay and invoke. Taking the easy way out. Cowards.

Pence is more puzzling, though. Why would he not want to act on a man who indirectly could have gotten him killed? I thought Pence was angry over this. More stupid than I thought.
