We have two years to take bold action that will set us apart from repugs.

Getting the country back to our status quo will be great but we have an opportunity to come out ahead in the next election if we take action that makes clear our greater humanity. Also do intensive grassroots community organizing.

What Sanders says starting at about 2’30” is dead-on, inspired me:

...too many will keep voting for the next Trump and his ilk. And we have to do it well before 2022 so the Dem majorities in the Congress are not only sustained but reinforced. Thank you for sharing this, it is the urgent matter when Biden becomes President and the full new Senate is seated! And as much as I love AOC, I hope she and others with grand visions can see that we need to do smaller but more crucial things in a priority order. Covid relief and student debt forgiveness before the Green New Deal and fixing the loopholes and gaps in regulations and laws that allowed Trump and his administration to run rogue, ignore subpoenas and operate opaquely rather than transparently. Then, we have something to go to the nation with in 2022 and say this is what America can get done when we work together with a rational vision.

5. Right. There's certainly no shortage of possibilities. I appreciated the way Sanders laid it out in

the vid, seemed well thought out. We can make environmental progress in line with the Green New Deal without making it about the GND. Fine line between stirring up enthusiasm on our side and stirring up resistance on the right.

6. Yes, but some things even have resistance from some Dems, like GND

We have to be careful to understand that what we in the more progressive and coastal/big city part of the party like, is not as palatable to the more moderate Dem elements elsewhere in the country. While wooing folks from the moderate right is necessary to gain a greater majority for House and Senate and 2024, we can't afford to again lose 10% of folks traditionally Dem. It's a challenge on how to make progress without ruffling feathers. But making progress in key areas of great consensus is certainly a way to both getting momentum and also healing the great divide created by Trumpsters. Thank god we have the Senate!

4. We have a 50-50 Senate and we're saddled with Joe Manchin.

I think we CAN get the following done, though.

1. Stronger COVID relief.

2. Improvements to the ACA.

3. Higer national minimum wage.

4. Some form of a DACA bill.

5. Earned Income Tax Credit.

6. Modest election reform.

7. Yes, these. Sanders being the Budget Chair can get quite a bit done just using budget reconciliation
