'Horrified' Rouses grocery co-owner apologizes for attending deadly Capitol riot in DC

The co-owner of Rouses Markets released a statement saying he was “horrified” by Wednesday’s insurrection in Washington after a picture of him there was widely shared on social media, where people were calling for a boycott of the popular chain.

An image of Donald Rouse Sr., now retired, and former Rouses human resources director Steve Galtier flooded social media after Galtier posted a public image from the rally on Facebook of the crowd, saying, “Millions in DC today with us — more to follow.”

What followed was another image, in comments under the post, that caught the attention of Louisiana blogger Lamar White Jr. It showed Rouse and Galtier with the pro-Trump crowd behind them.

...

The Thibodaux-based regional grocery chain has 60 locations, including three on the Mississippi Gulf Coast — one on Pass Road in Gulfport, one near Interstate 10 in Diamondhead and one off U.S. 90 in Ocean Springs.

I believe he left before the violence started. Or at least when the violence started. No rich old white guy is going to storm the barricades with a bunch of people he wouldn't normally be caught in the same room with.

I shop at Rouse's sometimes, but I won't if they're rioting in the Capitol. It's a shame because they're about the only good grocery chain we have left down here, unless you count Wal-Mart.

After all, my attempt to overthrow the United States government by force didn't succeed. Can we just let bygones be bygones? Look forward to the future, not backwards to the distant past? Why are you so snippy about a little mild insurrection? Everyone's so touchy! What about my feelings? I'm really horrified now!

But it's probably just as well. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to restrict my revenge efforts to a mere boycott.

Florida grocer, Alfie Oakes of Oakes market and Seed to Table grocery stores in S. Florida paid for a bus load of seditionists to go to riot. He's also a big anti masker. Im not comfortable with shopping for food there any longer.

Most didn't. The crowd didn't start dispersing until well after the doors were breached. Some of the GOP politicians in the riots were Tweeting out how glorious it was when they over ran security and broke through the barriers.
