They were abandoned, way under staffed and put in a terrible, unwinnable, extremely dangerous and stressful situation. There is video of just a handful of cops protecting one door being attacked and they were fighting back hard. They did hold things long enough for Senators to get to safety. I am dam proud of these cops. Yes, I do think there were a handful of MAGA cops in the mix and even the one cop who was killed was a Trump supporter but he did his job valiantly.

Just had to post this because of all the flack the cops are getting. Clearly in the videos MOST of the cops are fighting back valiantly. A handful are not. The leadership was at fault probably because Trump was pulling strings.

Yes, there are vids of cops opening gates, helping insurgents and taking selfies...BUT...I also saw several getting their asses kicked and returning the favor.

It had to have been terrifying and disappointing to realize you were on your own against a bunch of tweaked out lunatics drunk on supremacy.
