Do the "controlled" debates actually matter? I want unanticipated questions, honesty if you will... (Original Post) mother earth Oct 2012 OP

The one on Wednesday was like open mike night at some third rate comedy club in bumfuck nevada.

Don't know about letting third party candidates in, but I'm all in with canning the debate commission and turning the whole deal back over to the LWV, who don't seem to be afraid of the political parties and the beltway media.

The questions that have always been posed by real voters are the ones I want to hear...and I want to hear from more than our two-party system. Our gov't is controlled by the oligarchy and the debates that are controlled by that same oligarchy guarantee the status quo. We are in dire need of out of the box thinking and action.

I want a panel of people representing different viewpoints asking questions. Not one lone moderator who has spent their corporate livelihood spewing phrases like, "Both sides do it" and running videos originating from Breitbart sources.
