...One fellow putting his feet on Nancy's desk, has been arrested. He will be charged & spend time
in jail. Another is hanging from a wall, and he apologizes. He will also get time in jail. He also
has been identified.
...Where did they get the idea that there will be...."no consequences"?..
.Very tough question..

Who is the man who said something like, "I can grab em by their pussy & get away with it," and......
sometime after that, the man said that, ...Donald Trump, was elected President of the United States..
That is where I think these morons got their ideas that...."I can get away with it."
They got their ideas that they can get away with it & no consequences from Donald Trump...

(6,552 posts)Why on earth they should think they might be held accountable for their actions I can't imagine. White people in this country live on a different level. Some of it is imaginary and some of it is real. Either way, I would bet only maybe 100 people in that crowd thought about the possibility of negative repercussions of their actions. We must, as a country, learn to think differently. Not for our sack, but for the future of a free and democratic country.

(3,178 posts)Actually, to be more specific, a death cult. Yes, it is sick and a result of severe societal and cultural dysfunction on a large, group psychosocial dynamic scale. When they took down DU in 2016 they posted a message "Trump is God-King!" or something like that. That is how they speak of him. It's not a joke, it's a death cult, and Trump has the ability to, in essence, entrance them. The failure of the coup may break that bubble somewhat I think, but they fully believed what they were doing was "blessed" in a very literal, and magical sense. That guy with the horns and fur and war paint calls himself a shaman. This is a very REAL belief for him and the term he is using is not accidental (nor conscious on his part), but utterly predictable. This their group fantasy, and there's signficant reasearch and writing on the subject, seeing it play out like this right in front of my eyes, writ large is actually quite mind-blowing to me:
