Taxcuts have put a heavy burden on the Democratic Party...

Actually, they have burdened the Party for about 30 years. They do not serve our Party and they do not serve our country well.

There seems to always be a few Democrats in every Congress that believe tax cuts are the best stimulus and incentive for investment. They (taxcuts) take away most options from Democrats to help people and make this a more equitable nation.

Even President Obama has fallen into this trap, it seems. His extension of the Bush taxcuts did little to help the economy but made the deficit much larger and gave Repubs an issue to beat him over the head with.

The payroll tax also, was an idea that most folks did not know they were getting and if it is allowed to expire, these same folks will consider it a tax increase by Obama and the Democrats.

It seems to me we should find another way to help the economy and to help the Party rather than resorting to the Republican idea of taxcuts. Just my opinion.

Democratic ideas are good for the people. Now when you take Democratic ideas and under the guise of bipartisanship let republicans water them down you get weak shit that doesn't help the people very much. republicans will take that compromise and beat the shit out of you with it, It ain't rocket science and anyone who has seen a republican and a Democratic Administration can see it, if they don't see it they don't want to see it.

Personally the cynic in me sees some in our party using that for political cover because they want it too.

Obama should have allowed the bu$h tax cuts to expire. He had a good reason, if only he had used it. The debt caused by 2 bu$h wars and... bu$h's tax cuts.
What good are tax cuts when you don't have a job? What good are tax cuts when they starve government of necessary operating funds from the federal level all the way down to the local level?. What the federal tax cuts really did was to cause state and local governments to try to find new sources of operating funds. So, were the federal tax cuts really helping those living on main street? Not nearly as much as we are being told they do.

the government they are willing to pay for....literally. If you're not willing to pay taxes (and most Americans aren't, they are for raising taxes on anyone but themselves) you get an inefficient government that is controlled by corporations.

The tax cuts increased the deficit and now the GOPers are hanging it around Obama's neck.

Never negotiate with Republicans.

They always seemed like a carnie trick to me, and now we have several attempts of empirical proof that they don't.
