we've already witnessed his mental capacity at 70-74 years of age. With his weight and lifestyle I doubt he'll be alive. One way to prevent him from running again in 2024 is to keep the litigation pressure on him now and post presidency. He can't handle the stress. (I know trump's age shouldn't matter because Biden is older but Biden is healthier in mind, body and spirit.)

Don't get me wrong, I'm 100 percent behind impeachment. But you aren't going to find 17 Republican senators who will convict him. Most Republican senators are in red states where voting to convict him would be the end of their political career. They'd get destroyed in a primary against a MAGA republican.

Moderate republican after moderate republican would come out against Trump, get primaried by a MAGA, and get beat soundly.

If tRump is impeached AND convicted, then he couldn't run again. That is the only way impeachment/conviction works for us.

Of course, if he is nailed by the SDNY, and convicted by them, that would also stop him from running again. But who knows if that will happen.

We have impeachment right now! Let's make use of the tool we already have.

They're hoping they can push Trump into resigning before it goes there. Which is as likely as flying pigs.

he will run in 2024 and he will have at least a 50/50 chance of winning. And even if that doesn't happen for some reason, the next Trump will be more competent and we won't have a democratic republic left when he leaves. I am old enough to remember us not holding Reagan accountable (he didn't know) and not hold Bush accountable (we need to look forward) and each successive scandal is worse than the one before. What happens when we get a Hawley or Cotton next? We will see everyone but white, straight, cis, conservative males in jails or executed.
