Chris Hayes just showed video from inside the Capitol that made me want to vomit

These were animals*. ALL must be prosecuted. With these videos it's clear why so many police were injured.

5. I didn't see the video, but concerning the police

it makes me think that there is a 5th column inside the Capital police. It looks like many of the cops tried so hard to protect the building and the congress people and senators. And then there were others who were either siding with the protestors or else doing nothing.

At one door, the police (three of them?) literally moved to the side and let the mobsters break through the door.

At another door, the police (as shown in Chris's clip) are heroically holding the line while the congresspersons are escaping.

Two different doors... what's the difference? Who was leading the side where the cops just slid to one side and watched?

The cops are stepping aside, knowing that guns are drawn on the other side of that door and guns are drawn behind the people trying to break in. I saw it a few hours ago; if I remembered where I would link to it.

Those officers stood their ground in front of that door, preventing the mob from getting through while security moved the Members out of harm's way in the Speaker's Lobby on the other side of the door.

Then tactical forces arrived in the Speaker's lobby on the other side of the door and positioned themselves. You can see one of them draw his gun and aim it at the rioters. That's when those officers moved away from the door. And they needed to get out of the way in case the team had to fire. They no longer needed to protect the door because the tactical forces were there, so they were ordered to stand down and reposition.

The rioters knew the forces were on the other side of the door - they could see them and even yelled that there was a gun. Yet they continued to force their way through it, likely believing no one have the nerve to actually shoot them. When the woman climbed through the window, after repeated warnings, they were proved wrong.

And no one else tried to get through that door after that because they knew they would be met with lethal force (something that, unfortunately for that woman, they didn't seem able to believe until it was proven to them).

This was textbook.

I was completely puzzled at how the Capitol Police allowed these people to storm the building and thought it must have been incompetence and complicity. These videos disabused me of this.
