Source: IndependentAfter President Trumps acknowledgement that a change in administration is imminent, she told MSNBC:
I think somebody was able to get through to him and convince him that, even if its only performative, he needed to do something to mitigate the damage he caused only to himself, of course, because thats all he cares about. But of course it was purely performative. There was not any truth in it at all and if you listen carefully, he doesnt actually concede the election.

Theres no reason to take that video seriously, theres no reason to give him any credit for it, there is no reason at all to believe that it means that hes going to change going forward. Were still looking at a very difficult, potentially dangerous 12 days, and it certainly shouldnt do anything to let him off the hook.

If youre paying attention right now, you should be both enraged and terrified. We cant put anything past Donald. Hes desperate, hes terrified and he has absolutely no empathy and hes a nihilist. CONTINUED

(9,497 posts)The right-wing was scrambling to come up with a cover story and Trump needed to sound conciliatory until Faux and OAN could unite behind a way to blame Democrats.

(7,012 posts)I have already seen posts here at DU criticizing Biden for the $2000 stimulus. I am thinking to myself, "WTF, he isn't even in there yet."
Seriously, one day at a fricken time.

(12,344 posts)everyone intends to isolate him and ignore his orders until he is out. What does a narcissist do once they have burned all their bridges and become powerless? They just move on to the next thing as if nothing happened...

(36,747 posts)He absolutely believes that he is a god. He believes everyone else is here to serve him as he sees fit. Its a definitely abnormal belief structure, but one nonetheless.

(36,130 posts)Every major sector -- govt, business, the digital world, even so-called law enforcement. There is major de-platforming of everyone who make up his cult. Congress is mobilized. Massive arrests are being made by the DOJ and FBI.
They're not going away, that's true. But they will be pretty soon, and they're going into hiding. This CNN piece isn't giving the whole picture. He is quaking now, and so are his insurrectionist minions because they know they're in serious, life-altering legal jeopardy.

(111,319 posts)to get him to read one sentence at a time, probably flailing and screeching in between them. I just wonder if anyone had a gun on him.
I honestly can't see him being cajoled into it.
I just hope the next 12 days destroy him before he can destroy us.
And I want his enablers in prison, in Gitmo, whatever.

(460 posts)Trump's been plotting this scheme since 2016, and he's nowhere near done.
Wednesday was merely a dress rehearsal.
IMHO.

(5,420 posts)Trump's speech was an exercise in self-harm minimization, nothing more.
He will ramp things up as much as he can . . . 'If I can't have this country, no one can!' style.
Nukes flying West to China and East to Russia, but running out of fuel over San Francisco and NY?
I hope those near Trump have the mental and physical strength to take him down when his mind goes into mega-destructo mode.

(18,637 posts)Some cult members may be willing to sacrifice themselves for his 'cause'.
I'm sure he also has cult members in the military. Could any of them go rogue and bring weapons of war to attack DC?
I hope I'm just being paranoid and I probably am but it's still stomach churning.
He still holds all the power of the presidency and has installed cult members in many high government positions.
Could any of them become suicide bombers for Trump?

(3,579 posts)Government and the Constitution - and fails....
Should now have the protections of the Constitution - reference Pardons for him and his enablers?
I think the State / Nation has an obligation to protect self - and should provide trials, adjudicate for truth, and then hang if found guilty.
