I think Moscow Mitch will be resigning soon from the Senate,

Trump recently got a IG investigation of him and his wife stopped, then Democrats took control over the Senate. Now he and the wife knows the investigations will expose them both for lots of crimes, and getting bribes from enemies. MM also may have known about the capital attack coming, which would make him in an even worse legal position. The attack was planned, and some knew what was going to happen. MM and his wife knows what's coming after them now, Justice.Expect him to resign soon, likely claiming his health. His wife lied why she left too.

Retired Colonel and Fighter Pilot Amy McGrath just might get her wish. She ran a very good campaign based on facts. She would serve the people of Kentucky well.

Democrats for fun, even from Minority Leader position. The only way I see him go is if there's an internal heave against him, and that's unlikely in the short term.

Moscow Mitch loves nothing more than power. I think we are stuck with him especially since he was just re-elected. He would not want to risk a Democrat being appointed to his seat. He’s got a little wiggle room with Joe Manchin of WV who often sides with rethugs...I’m not counting him out yet. I think a health issue would take him out before he would resign.

Have you looked closely at him lately.... his health is failing. He has done his job for a long time the accumulated stress must be immense.

The man grooves on unlimited power and is not going to like life in the minority. I think he'll do a Paul Ryan and quit.

It would be "for reasons of declining health, after he pushed himself into a serious illness while valiantly serving the (white) people of Kentucky and the United States".
The push back and rancor at him from the right wing if he did otherwise and a Democrat was appointed would be too dangerous.
(The Repugs would also, in their usual slimy and hypocritical way, try to use this to pressure the Governor into appointing a Repug.)
