A hostile insurrectionist force carrying a confederate flag actually got further in terms of penetrating Washington than Robert E Lee in 1863 and Jubal Early in 1864.

This invasive force succeeded where the invasive forces led by Lee and Early failed -- in planting the Confederate flag at the heart of power in Washington.
