Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs there any information or update on the officer inside the Capitol who was clearly in great pain
and distress? Looking at one of the videos that Chris Hayes showed last night, it looked like he was being crushed between two doors, after head injuries?

OP
Yes, he was howling in pain as he was being crushed. I'd also like to know if he's OK.

He apparently posted that he is ok and ready to go back to defend the Capitol.

Were those officers trying to protect the Senators? I am curious why they were trying to hold

Hey r/politics community,
The mod team received a message from the police officer shown in this post. We have verified his identity using the same standards we use for AMA proof.
"I'm ok and greatly appreciate everyone's well-wishing. It's also important everyone knows that it was both my and my colleagues' privilege to defend the Capitol against insurrection, and we'll do it as many times as necessary. I can do this all day."

that hallway while other parts of the building were just opened right up?
