Who else is REALLY looking forward to Biden/Ryan?

I always kind of expect presidential debates to be rather tepid affairs. All canned talking points and rehearsed lines.

The VP debates I expect to be livelier. They can be the attack dogs their counter parts can't.

I bet Biden is chomping at the bit to get his proverbial hands on that weasel Paul Ryan. He's got too much fire in him not to go on the attack.

I can't wait!

1. Well, given how he handled SP, I don't know what to expect....

He was well nigh perfect then, understated yet forceful, steady and intelligent yet humorous and very human.

I almost expect a repeat of the Pres debate last week. Just be the adult in the room while the kid throws his tantrum and harvest the video for ad fodder.

The Repubs have gotten to the point that anything they say turns immediately into a Democratic ad.

10. That was tougher. rLyan's got a track record. All he could say to Palin was "YOU FUCKING MORON!"

Biden's got far more easily available material on rLyan than he can possibly use in a single debate. Pretty much anything rLyan says has a factual and easily verifiable rebuttal. And there are plenty of charges to be made for which rLyan's only response has to be denial. I guess we'll see, but I think Biden's just "Biden" his time until Wednesday night.

I think Joe will be fine because he is naturally a good debater. I was watching some of the debates from 2007 the other day and he was always the most liveliest with lots of good points made in his arguments.

But the smashmouth feeding frenzy some people want debates to be just is not how they usually are.

I don't literally expect Biden to call Ryan a jug eared goon and knee him in the jewels!

But I am anticipating a livelier affair!

3. Be prepared: VP Biden will probably say something that makes everyone cringe.

I'm sure some here will complain endlessly about it in the following days. And, maybe it won't happen at all. However, I believe Ryan will lose it before it is over and steal the show with his assholery. Anyone want to take bets as to when he'll lose it?

I'm looking forward to it! I hope his inhumanity is on full display. I want to see that smug shit go down in flames. I hope he loses his Congressional seat. Here's a link to his challenger, Rob Zerban's site: http://www.robzerban.com/

I Biden. He may make a gaffe, but it's just as likely that he'll come up with another, "A verb, a noun & 911." Also, many of his 'gaffes' are just the truth spoken without any bullshit.

It should be good.

Grand scale politics are always pretty exciting, in my opinion.

13. This will, I think, be fascinating, at least to me.

I am Irish and (former) Catholic. I come out of a combination of two strains in Irish Catholicism that Joe Biden and Paul Ryan embody. I have relatives ( union teachers, for example) who absolutely love Joe; I have other relatives (upper-middle class,small-town local business owners) who think Ryan is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have been part of these debates at wakes, weddings, Thanksgiving dinners, 4th of July gatherings. I sort of view it as the Nuns on the Bus versus the Bishops ( and that is not even entirely fair to the bishops who have condemned Ryan's budget).

I only wish that they would go without a moderator and let them slug it out.
