WOW!! Happy Sunday! Flake (R) DOWN 2 against Carmona!!! AZ Senate seat gets bluer by the day.

60 is a magic number. :0)

If this Senate seats turns blue that gets us much MUCH MUCH closer to 60.

I didn't expect to pick up this seat, but if an Arizona seat is turning blue there is a good chance to pick up other seats. They haven't even been polling many of those "sure to be Red" senate races. I wonder how many of them have been slowly moving towards toss-up or blue?

If an Arizona Senate race can surprise us by turning blue, it is possible almost anywhere.

Carmona up 2, Romney by 9 in Arizona
PPP's newest poll of the Arizona Senate race finds Democrat Richard Carmona leading Republican foe Jeff Flake 45-43. That represents a small shift in Carmona's direction since our last poll of the state three weeks ago, which had found Flake ahead by just a 44-43 margin.

There's two things you have to do to win as a Democrat in a pretty Republican leaning state like Arizona: win independents and a get a healthy amount of crossover support from GOP voters. Right now Carmona's doing both of those things. He has a 52/37 advantage over Flake with independents. And he's winning over 14% of Republicans while losing just 7% of Democrats. Carmona's net favorability is a +8 spread (35/27), while Flake's is -1 at 40/41.

I've seen a lot of info saying AZ is getting close to being a toss-up.

Carmona is popular with all the political groups as he is pretty much a centrist. After all, he was appointed by Bush. He is also very popular with Veterans with his military background. We'll take him anyway we can get him in this red state. My district #9 (Federal races) or #24 (local ) is a left leaning district, and I am sure Carmona will win in the 9th District. The Democrats desperately need to hold the Senate. Go Carmona!

The only House seats I am familiar with are in my own district 9 in Phoenix. Kyrsten Senema (D) is running against Vernon Parker (R). The ads against her are horrible - showing her as some creature from out of space with an affiliation to a Communist newsletter. I have also seen thrown around by Republicans that she is bi-sexual. Parker is black, so this is an interesting combination in bigoted AZ.

on his "Side Show" segment.

Talk about over the top. Hopefully that will catapult the Democrat in.
