I haven't seen it in a few years. I'm trying to think it's coincidence.

(21,646 posts)showed me reminded me of Cabaret I forgot the reference but I told them what the movie was about and the time and place Berlin early 30s . Told them it was good old movie to see
Then somehow we got on to the French resistance Startedwith talking about the trump flag being put in place of the fallen down American flag at the Capitol
and how the French seeing the swastika flag flying on places like the Eiffel Tower replacing the French flag was a big blow to their national psyche
So many things that we have all remotely witnessed at the Capitol this week are shattering to the soul of our nation .
We are living in one of those times like it or not.
No coincidence

(65,212 posts)...I always liked Cabaret.
I think it has a lot to do with all the musical numbers being in context.
Probably why I liked the first 2 Pitch Perfect movies.
Joel Grey is superb.
I doubt this timing is anything but coincidence.
They set schedules at least a week in advance.
That said, when Kirk Douglas died, they ran some stuff that weekend that was unlikely on the schedule.
They ran 5 or 6 movies and a mini-doc.
But, that's a lot more obvious. This movie was probably already planned.
