two GA Republicans, need to be appreciated. They have a strong sense, one might even say unshakeable, about the sanctity of the public space. This is primordial, and we are lost without it.

Raffensperger was instrumental in voter suppression in Georgia and voter roll purges I have read.

Raffie only refused because he knew he couldn't invent enough "fraud" to get away with overturning the election.

(39,382 posts)By all means, replace them with Democrats. But thank Buddha they have their limits. The election conformed to their rules and they stood by the result, in the face of some very serious intimidation. We shouldnt take these things for granted.

(630 posts)Doesn't mean he couldn't have played along, fanned the flame awhile, in the name of winning a couple senate seats. He didn't. Sterling pushed back early and hard. I agree with the OP, whatever we may disagree with these men about, they are honorable and conducted 2 high-profile, tightly contested elections with huge implications and pressure from the most powerful office in the world, and conducted them seamlessly.
