60 Minutes: Have to say, Raffensperger and Sterling

two GA Republicans, need to be appreciated. They have a strong sense, one might even say unshakeable, about the sanctity of the public space. This is primordial, and we are lost without it.

1. The crux of democracy is the peaceful transfer of power. That depends on fair trustworthy elections

Thanks for their role in helping ensure that.

Too some extent.

Raffensperger was instrumental in voter suppression in Georgia and voter roll purges I have read.

All evidence suggests that if overturning the election involved only a manageable amount of cheating, he would have done it.

Raffie only refused because he knew he couldn't invent enough "fraud" to get away with overturning the election.

This guy is clearly not one of them. Yet he still voted for Trump.

By all means, replace them with Democrats. But thank Buddha they have their limits. The election conformed to their rules and they stood by the result, in the face of some very serious intimidation. We shouldn’t take these things for granted.

Doesn't mean he couldn't have played along, fanned the flame awhile, in the name of winning a couple senate seats. He didn't. Sterling pushed back early and hard. I agree with the OP, whatever we may disagree with these men about, they are honorable and conducted 2 high-profile, tightly contested elections with huge implications and pressure from the most powerful office in the world, and conducted them seamlessly.
