(34,483 posts)communications, that told people in advance to bring radios rather than cell phones. Sounds like another piece of evidence that they planned a violent attack all along.

(6,212 posts)If you were there and in the building with your phone on they know who you are. And they can likely track your movement within the building.
They will be coming just as sure as you get a cellular bill every month.

(6,212 posts)As I have suggested in several posts on this site, I retired 11 years ago as a network administrator. In the 25 years I held that title; I worked for many private and governmental agencies as a consultant.
During one of those consulting jobs, I was working for a state governmental agency. I was sitting in my off-site office when my unpublished cellphone rang.
I answered the phone.
The individual, on the other end, said, "this is the United States Secret Service. Do you administer a server with this IP address ##.###.##.## (the server is still in service).
I answer, yes! Why are you asking? Their reply was "what is the server used for" and "how many people use that server?". I answered both questions and, in return, asked WHY again?
Their reply was, "less than six hours ago; someone threatened the then-sitting president.
The short version of what happened next was, "can you ID the user" and "what is your fax number?" I agreed to review our server logs for the timestamp of which computer in our building contacted a White House server. Within twenty minutes after I hung up and found the specific computer and gave the person's ID to the CEO. The building FAX had a subpoena in the in-tray to appear in Federal Court the next day with all pertinent information.
SO the non-attorney answer in my experience is probably YES!
And it can happen in a flash.

(14,843 posts)I did some research in the meantime and saw the word metadata used a lot. The Patriot Act and it's successor the USA Freedom act suggested that... yes... it was possible. The USA Freedom Act was reauthorized (and amended) in March but I can't tell how it affected NSA's rights.

(2,698 posts)Treason has no statute of limitations. The traitors who set out to murder members of congress and destroy the votes needed to secure Bidens election will never be certain that their turn to be arrested is not about to come up, and that they might be called to account in a court of law, tried, and sentenced for 10-to-life.
Sleep on that,patriots."
