Why are so many republicans resigning?

Because they're guilty and trying to escape accountability.

They are snowflakes who fear having to account for thier choices.

They hope they will escape justice.

And they wanna screw the incoming Biden administration.

Why did trump appoint so many asshole judges in so many places?

He was plotting insurrection and violence and wanted rethug judges to let his obediant servant
assholes off easy.

This insurrection I think has been in the works even before trump was elected.

They know they've bet on the wrong horse. They thought that he was going to be a full on dictator and wanted a prime seat at the table.

We cannot forget and forgive or we're condoning the past four years

There must be a harsh penalty for Trump, his family, his 'circle' and anyone that has ever supported him. We can leave no stone unturned or we're begging for another wanna be dictator.

It would be easier to just move on but it wouldn't be the right thing to do.

If Trump goes full-Mussolini, because you know he has probably been floating it to his sycophants if not making plans to put it into action (who knows if last Wednesday was part of that plot).

Mostly because they figure Trump is not competent enough to pull it off.
