When Belichick outright rejects your medal, you've lost the public. Of course, Trump will claim this is another example of the NFL becoming irrelevant because of its focus on social justice.

Kudos to Belichick for doing the right thing and for expressing his decision in no uncertain terms.

Belichick is a military historian who understands the gravity of the men and women who have received medals for their contributions, some posthumously, and it doesn't surprise me that he declined. His relationship w Trump, like Kraft, is not lockstep in their value for the greater good (team) over individuality, hard work and universal inclusion.

Accepting this award down at a time like this would have challenged a lot of what he has espoused over the years. Good for him.

Local sports show personalities were sure he was going to accept the award.

They were also pretending that it didn't matter to them and he should do as he pleases (I listen to the Democratic sports station.)

I was laughing because I think they were setting him up for failure. He would have accepted this "award" before last week. His move is purely political given a lose-lose situation. I'm glad he said no, but he's still a trumper.

In my opinion, tRump has so debased the medal that I wouldn't want one either.

Limbaugh and Nunes are NOT deserving of the medal.

tRump has lowered the bar and put it in the category of winning a prize at the local county fair by breaking a balloon with a dart.

Sad, again, EVERYTHING he touches goes to s**t.

I feel sorry for all the previous winners and hope that somehow they distinguish medals awarded pre-tRump and those awarded in the tRump years.
