Was it several hundred?
Or several thousand?
Did most of them stay outside the building?
It appeared that the most passionate and violent insurrectionists did not hesitate to break into the nations Capitol and threaten the elected representatives of this country.
If they can arrest most of those that were inside the Capitol, they will have decapitated a large part of the Trump cult, in my opinion.

(24,372 posts)They absolutely were marked, have no doubt.
Apparently the capital building is soaking in cell service, so each and every person that enters the building is able to be tracked if they are carrying a cell phone that is turned on.
How many of the people that were in the building do you think that didnt apply to?
It might take months, but the data is already logged, and I am confident they all will be getting contacted in due time.

(24,372 posts)..like..fifty or more? Certainly the most egregious that went viral because of photos.
The dude with his feet on Pelosis desk? Arrested.
The guy carrying the lecturn? Arrested.
The guy wearing the dopey fur headdress? Arrested
The guy that chased the officer up the stairs? Arrested
Etc. etc.
Give the FBI time. Im confident most if not all will get whats coming to them.

(24,372 posts)But yes, you make a good point that there were plenty of these fucking terrorists who know enough to leave their phones at home or hotel.

(412 posts)Especially the civilians, the others like the oath keepers are probably taking precautions with their electronic comms.
But I would imagine that the cops were deploying stingrays in the area. So they will have info on most of them. The burner phones are the issue.

(12,663 posts)As there was damage and murder done on the portico, the steps, and in the rotunda, I think that would be considered "inside the Capitol" - these people didn't stay on the public lawn or the public sidewalk as a "normal" first amendment protest would occur.
Probably 1/4 of them actually went in further past the rotunda and immediate halls, but very few of the protesters appeared to remain outside the Federal Building.
