Could Trump have prevented the mob from attacking the Capitol?

With a simple tweet, could he have told them to stand down and not enter?

I think most people would agree that he could have stopped the mob but he chose not to?

What does that mean?

That means that he was not only complicit, he was leading the attack by letting it continue.

There is no other explanation.

And it must be put forth, not held back in silence, so people can understand that it happened.

sent the link to Seth Abrahamson tweet feed, where he did a line by line of what Trump told his rioters. It took some time to read it all, but it was masterful. I was not aware of what propaganda speech can do to a person’s motivations. I hope someone can find it, and place it here for you. If you get the time, and it might take an hour, read it.

I can’t listen to Trumps voice, so it did help me. I think after he got them motivated, nothing would have stopped them. It was too late.

The MAGAts would be attacking people that didn't comply. A department manager at a local store asked a women yesterday to
put a mask on and she spit in her face. That is what we are dealing with, they are nuts.

He also could have not put lackeys in place at DOD and Homeland Security - possibly to stand down as they did. A few participants have said that the President was WITH them and in spirit he was. By some accounts, he was essentially cheering them on.

While the mob was calling for hanging his VP, he turned a deaf ear. There were heroes who put their lives on the line to prevent our elected legislators from being killed.

The video put out way too late - though saying to go home - can easily be seen as implicitly praising them for what they did. He loved them and called them patriots. (Ivanka also called them patriots even as she called for calm. Patriots do not join insurrections. )

Note that there are serious threats for the Inauguration and this weekend - in DC and in all states. Note that Trump has not now IN ADVANCE called for HIS FANS to stand down. (and absolutely not stand by!)
