A congressman called for them to be added, but there has been no reputable report that they actually were added.
Some were taken off flights for refusal to wear masks, for disruption of a specific flight, to be arrested, or because an airline enacted its own ban. None of these, however, is anywhere near being put on the no-fly list.
#factsmatter
ETA: Per the FBI/DOJ conference 1/12 - we are gathering all information and actively considering using the no-fly list.

I am sick if these shitbags. They need to start actually being held accountable to the fucking law!!! We are just training them to do whatever they want.

(6,477 posts)The whole idea of it being a "Republic" rather than a "democracy" is that a Republic limits the power of direct democracy through the people by placing intermediary representatives (one might call them an elite!) between the mass of the people and decision-making. This idiot, of course, gets that completely backwards, yelling "We're a Republic, not a democracy: we the people, not an elite!" In other words, he prefers direct democracy rather than republican government. The stupidity of these aggressive shitheads is truly exhausting.

(11,742 posts)It is a common refrain from idiots like Trumpers. It means absolutely nothing really. Our form of government is a Constitutional Federal Republic. The way we form our government and empower it to act is through representational democracy. These idiots probably understand none of what I just wrote because unlike their little idiot poster boy Ben Shapiro says, "Facts don't care about your feelings", you can see by the confrontation that ALL they go on is emotion. Nothing that was said, was any kind of rational valid argument against policy or against ideology. It was all emotionally charged RANT against an imaginary threat.

(19,962 posts)On Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez posted on her Instagram story that she was going to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and she took her followers through her experience.
"Hey everyone! So we found out last night that the COVID vaccine was available to members of Congress as part of the 'continuity of governance' plan (basically a national security measure)," she wrote, to kick off her story.

(235 posts)It is completely beyond my comprehension, these people. I pray that I do not end up in a situation like that, like he was, without anyone there to back him up, because I do not know if I could keep myself from swinging on one of them. They are soooo far lost, that I feel absolutely no sympathy for them. I wish only the worst upon them, I truly hope they all suffer a slow painful demise.
Watching that just angers me beyond belief.
Seeing this stupidity - I struggle for words - by all scientific accounts, they seem to be members of the same species - sometimes I think though science must just be wrong, there is no way there is any measurement that would place us in any category with them.

(53,410 posts)People like these have a real disconnect with any kind of critical thinking or reality. Theres a subset of women Ive run across in my life who use their children to justify and explain their formless rage. I think its a combination of trying to come across as a fierce mother figure and a sacrificing one.
Every woman Ive known who is like this treats her children badly on an emotional and psychological level. They guilt trip their children and are usually physically abusive.

(20,629 posts)more likely soon rather than later, if this shit continues when there is not appropriate security in place.
I thought that after 9/11, people were not just randomly allowed into airports beyond the baggage check/receiving area without an actual boarding pass?
crickets
(25,981 posts)Many Republicans are too arrogant and stupid to realize it, but trump and the gang have created an unruly beast, and members of both parties are in serious danger. Lindsey Graham had security with him and still was harassed in an airport the other day. I don't think any representative of either party should be treated this way in public or anywhere. No one should. It invites escalation that is going to get someone seriously hurt or killed.

(58,785 posts)trumpist harassers, or arrest any, which Correa said shocked him. He expected to be attacked at any time.
"Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokesman Micah Lillard told CNN there are no arrests or charges in connection to the incident. He gave no further comment. ... News of Correa's confrontation follows several others involving high profile lawmakers and Trump fans as they traveled to and from the Capitol."
How about the airline and its decisions? Surely they didn't allow people from this pack to board after this?
There're calls from everyone from congress to flight attendant unions to put all identified insurrectionists on no-fly lists, especially given a slew of incidents involving unruly passengers. This pack should all be readily identifiable, and given they threatened a congressman/fellow passenger should be bannable.

(25,981 posts)Public harassment of an elected official in the airport or on a plane = instaban. Toss a few dozen people out on their ears and put them on a no-fly list. That will certainly slow it down.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)ahead of the inauguration.
"Reps. Peter A. DeFazio (D-Ore.) and Rick Larsen (D-Wash.) said the FAA should aim (1) to prevent civil unrest from jeopardizing aviation safety and leading to injury or worse during flight, and (2) to limit the chance that the Nations commercial airline system could be used as a means of mass transportation to Washington, D.C., for further violence.
That last seems so obvious, that excepting any breaches due to sympathizers in positions of authority, seems likely that many seditionists expecting to fly or use other public transportation to capitals will be getting a nasty surprise. Same for the DC metro system.
Some insurrectionists stayed at Airbnb rentals right in DC neighborhoods, with appalled residents, very strongly Democrats, finding armed trumpists readying for "action" on their streets. Airbnb supposedly already was monitoring for hate groups, but if so dropped the ball badly. They say they're going to try harder, with a seven-step capital safety plan, ahead of the inauguration.
https://kfor.com/news/washington-dc-bureau/airbnb-reviewing-inauguration-bookings-for-hate-group-members/
Whatever. Logistics should be giving the traitors more headaches going on anyway.
crickets
(25,981 posts)I hope the airlines get on this. Just do it. I'm not a fan of the no-fly list overall, but right now we really do need it. Airbnb sounds a little over optimistic about their ability to control things, but good luck to them.
I did hear about the reaction in DC neighborhoods. I feel for them. This video is a gem:

Woman in car: I know. They really destroyed our city.
MOP: They destroyed the fucking city and it's like nobody gives a shit. If that was Black Lives Matter, they'd have tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue, but they let these fucking crackers take over the goddamn Capitol.
WIC: It's true.
MOP: What the fuck is that?
WIC: It makes me teary-eyed.
MOP: (unintelligible)
WIC: Yeah, if it was Black Lives Matter, we couldn't even do none of that or we'd die.
I'm from GA and 'fucking crackers' still just busts me up because it's so true. What a sweet moment of community togetherness there. Love to both of these wonderful people.

I'm sick of these Republicans going on Fox and saying that impeachment is a mistake because it will divide the country and make people angry.
These traitors stormed the US Capitol with the intent to kill the VP, Speaker and members of Congress. Instead of soft peddling this outrage, let's have some real accountability. Some arrests. Some trials. A domestic terrorist law. A fairness doctrine.

(30 posts)We are in a middle class, traditionally democratic, ethnically diverse part of Orange County. Katie Porter's district is just a few blocks to the south.
Lou works hard and our district has been a democratic stronghold in OC for a long time. The seat belong to Lorretta Sanchez until 2016, she left it to run for the CA senate against Kamala Harris.
This is the one part of OC (traditionally wealthy) where people really need help during this period -- Santa Ana, Anaheim --> many people in these cities are suffering. Unemployed or providing essential services to the rest of us.
Lou helps them. He represents them.
He does not deserve this.
