Trying to get rid of a dictator is not easy...thinking about how France got rid of Napoleon...

in exile he was not imprisoned so was able to raise/fund an army from Elba, right off the coast of Italy. When he was re-exiled, it was to the much more remote island of St. Helena. He was stopped only because he died of cancer there, before he could implement another threat to France.

A chilling comparison to our situation today...

Britain and her allies did. And even that took a terrible war with immense casualties, including huge losses to France.
