I am your classic conservative, at least as defined in a dictionary of the English language (as opposed to Republicanese).

I still work for the same outfit that recruited me out of college in 1975. I have been with the same wonderful woman since 1974. We have raised two solid, intelligent children who have grown up, think independently, did well in their respective colleges, and have jobs in which they earn their own living, have stable, long-term relationships, and are well-respected in their chosen fields.

I am risk-averse, and do not like to make rash, un-thought-out decisions. I have no debts. I have no addictions, not even to alcohol, religion, gambling, or nicotine. My favorite American philosopher is the 18th century Thomas Jefferson.

I am the epitome of “conservative.” I'm just not a Republican. The two terms have nothing to do with each other.

8. During my lifetime the word "Conservative" has had clear meaning.

First and foremost, from the bottom up, it has meant hatred for dark skin, non-heterosexuals and those who would tolerate these two groups of people. From the top down it has meant giving all possible advantages to the wealthy and restrictions on the voice and lives of all others.

All of my life I have heard the phrase "Conservative Values." Not one conservative value can be named out loud apart from wrapping yourself in the flag, bragging about your close relationship with God and the joyful oppression of women's rights.

The concepts of being loyal to county, careful, respectful of tradition or staying out of debt can be ruled out immediately by obvious examples. Conservative has been a term that indicates hatred of others.

Cancel culture has been part of conservative behavior in every instance I can remember. Racism, terror, religious fundamentalism and homophobia are all absolutely cancel culture. The shooting at Kent state was cancel culture. The bombing of Move was cancel culture. Without cancel culture, there is no conservative movement.
