All told, Mr. Adelson and his wife have donated more than a half-billion dollars to G.O.P. campaigns and super PACs since 2010, according to federal records.

The problem about building a political party around a handful of Billionaire donors. When a donor dies, you suddenly have a financing hole.

Also interesting that there is no up-and-coming billionaire to take his place.
