Do Trumpublicans really believe in "USA USA USA!"?

I looked it up, to be sure. Only three nations on the entire planet has their name start with "United".

1. United Kingdom
2. United Arab Emirates
3. United States of America


Sometimes I wonder, when they get into that go-to chant, if the red hats even believe in what they are chanting. Do they really beleive in the American experiment? That 50 States and other territories are "United"? Do they actually WANT to be united with the blue States? Or more specifically be united as a people, across State lines?

I have been thinking about this every time I hear these idiots chant that. The latest was a clip shown on Sam Seder's The Majority Report, showing Alex Jones leading the congregation outside the Capital, with that chorus on that fateful day

6. That's just it. They seem to have no idea, or forgotten that one of the three words is "United"

Its like they are vocally chanting and pleading for unity. While meaning the exact opposite. ie. the vast majority of people, as well as all the major networks and newspapers have declared for Biden. So you'd think, that if they are so boisterously enthusiastic of that name, of their country, to chant an abbreviation of the word "united" so loud n proud every chance they get, they'd be for accepting that most all other Americans want to unite around, or at least have acceptance of, a new Democratic administration. For the sake of, you know, being "united".

Irony indeed.

7. The thing about USA

The United States is a country but like many countries and other concepts, the actual meaning, symbolism, and history is subject to interpretation.

If you ask a Black American what USA means, they will have a different story than a Southern White person, a Japanese American, A Mexican-American, etc...

I was born and raised in California. Parts of my family were in California when it belonged to Mexico. Other parts immigrated in the 1950's and 60's. If you ask me what it means to be American and what USA means to me, it will be a long and complicated story.

Do Trump supporters believe in USA USA? Yes, but what that means to them is very likely a country where White conservative people are in charge and are able to impose whatever beliefs they hold to be relevant to them onto others, kick out "undesirables", and that anyone who does not fit into their notion of an American is forced to serve the hierarchy as second class citizens. They have love for an idealized (to them) version of the country. They hate certain elements within society and they think that by getting rid of those elements, they will have a perfect country. Except, it is a fantasy, because they actually exist in layers of radicalism and there will never be a country pure enough and they would eventually kill each other off.

Charlatans like Jones, and Trump use demagoguery to fleece stupid gullible people in order to enrich themselves and gain power.

8. I agree with everything you said

I just find it interesting(?) that a country who is only one of three in the whole world, that has "United" as part of their name, is anything but. If a country has that word in their name, you'd think that concept would be important to them. That striving for "a more perfect union" which is in the Constitution, would be important to citizens of that nation. Even if it meant accepting "other" Americans who don't run in your circles. And especially for citizen that are happy to chant USA USA USA loud and repeatedly.

The advent of right wing media has really caused a divide in this country to grow larger. Remember that only a little more than 150 years ago, We fought a Civil War, where the country literally split in two. We have patched that up to a certain extent, but the reality is that conservatism as an ideology, especially the more extreme variant is diametrically opposed to democracy.

I hate to say it but as long as conservatism is as strong a force as it is right now, we won't be unified. I have no problem if people think differently, but we are talking about people who have been living in an echo chamber that has told them that the results of as clean an election in the last 50 years (Republicans still engaged in dirty trick, but they didn't work) was rigged and stolen because their candidate did not win. The entire GOP has been stoking that lie for the last 2 months.
