Cheney does not like Trump and I think the briefings they received made them realize their own danger. I’m guessing she leans on Pence to avoid pardon. Also I wonder if Pence wants to pardon Trump after he was targeted.

The problem with any pardon is that it opens him up to civil lawsuits for those injured or killed in the riot.

And he knows how to turn tail if the heat is too much. As his bubble slowly bursts he might just resign, but don’t expect an apology. Just a long whiny crying jag. If he does and tries to make a speech they ought to cut the audio and let him stand there with his lips moving and no sound.

Conviction after he leaves, in his opinion, won't count
