This is becoming the great "Bait and Switch" election.

Up to this point, Mitt Romney has been a tool of the right wing. He has said whatever he thought they wanted to hear. Democrats were more than willing to attack him on his far right positions. On taxes, on immigration, on education, on energy, he was right there with them. He was a "severe conservative".

Then, as if turning on a dime, he has changed his positions on almost every one of them. No, he will not cut taxes for the wealthy if it is not paid for. He loves teachers. He is not against a sensible immigration plan...etc. Overnight, the Democrats find themselves running against a totally different candidate - a much stronger candidate, a moderate.

Romney's problem, if it is one, is whether the right wingers will still accept him if he runs as a true moderate, so long as he stands a better chance of winning the White House? So long as he can beat Obama, they don't really care if he runs as a socialist. He can say whatever he wants. He can be more of a liberal than Obama if he wants and there will not be a political price to pay. That presents a problem for today's Democratic Party. How can they claim the middle if their opponent is already there??

(Soc-Sec, Medi-Care, Medicaid), regardless of age or earnings in ANY WAY. Nor will he change the age of retirement upward.

If he does that, then any "reforms" will have to be designed to make the above true.

Romney is on record as a liar and a flip flopper. Now it may not matter to his brain dead base, but it will to those who can see through his BS. He can lie all the wants, pretend to be the most moderate person running, his own words during the primaries alone prove that it's all a BS, and once again he is simply saying whatever it takes to win, but it won't work. The majority of americans already know the real Romney, and they won't vote for him no matte how much he lies about things. Most voter have already made up their minds, and I don't think the lies Mitt told in th last debate are going to change anyones opinion of him. Maybe some of the teabaggers who would never vote for president Obama anyway but have been sitting on the fence over voting for Romney will now hold their nose and vote for him, but then again there are two more debates and plenty of time for him to open his big mouth and put his foot in it once again.

He has gone up in the polls, even with his lies and flip-flopping. Obviously some folks cannot see thru the BS....

But he believes he can do better in the upcoming election with his present persona...Of course, he has shown he can change anytime. All they need is someone to sign the bills they pass...
