Republican House and Senators say they fear for their lives if they vote to impeach or convict.

Well guess what assholes, soldiers you send into combat, police officers you expect to protect you, firemen you expect to save you ....the list goes on and on...risk their lives every day. They don’t whine like a bunch of sniveling bedwetters about it.

They face it. YOU ran for the office you hold. YOU begged for money to get there. YOU told your constituents that you are the person for the job. YOU said you would be honorable. YOU took an oath to protect and defend the constitution. NO one dragged YOU out of your safe existence and forced you to be where you are now. YOU asked for this.

The founders of this nation, whom you so gleefully like to quote, pledged their lives and fortunes, full well knowing that failure to succeed in creating the nation YOU now represent, would be fatal.

If YOU are afraid your constituents will kill you maybe, just maybe, YOU have the wrong constituents. Go find some new ones and start over.

YOU disgust me!

and steering them away from the extreme far-right fringe movement by warning them of the barrage of propaganda coming at them from multiple sources, including Fox News, rightwing social media, rightwing talk radio, and above all else, Trump and his minions.

But they didn't. Because they calculated that it was in their best interest to have a radical, rightwing base that would pledge their undying support of Trump and Trump's enablers in Congress.

They threw their lot in with the arsonist that is Donald Trump, and now their own houses are on fire.

Showing strength actually impresses them more than showing weakness, which only emboldens them.

McConnell has the right attitude on this, hopefully he follows through. Whatever Turtle is, he does get politics and knows the long term health of the GOP is not good, as each year passes. The post 2012 autopsy still holds true for their party. Trumpism represents the dying last gasp of white supremacist politics in America, not a beginning.
