I think Mitch will push it to the point of a vote as early as this week and then hold over Trump to assure that he'll not do anything worse before leaving.

Finally they realize he's cryptonite to their party. Now Mitch has no use of him and is siding w Dems in convicting him to ensure he will no longer have a grip on the party. I do think if the law willcatch up w/ 45, but the crazies will set up their own party which will fracture the GOP. Play with fire & you will get burned. They should have seen that when they nominated him for their candidate.

Not going to happen, and they will not vote so that he can't run again in 2024. We are getting way ahead of ourselves, Trump will finish his term and he'll run again in 2024. The Republicans have no choice.

McConnel is said to be in favor of impeachment doesn't mean he is is in favor of removal.

No Republican Senator has come out for conviction and removal yet to my knowledge.

Two thirds of 98 is 65 and a third. Sixty-six, since we're not slicing up any senators (as far as I know.)

Perdue is out.

The Article will be sent right away. That was signaled when the House managers were appointed. If you recall, that is how it was delayed last time.

Mitch will bring the Senate back into session. This is happening.

If 75 Senators showed up that day, the 2/3 conviction would be calculated off that, not 100.

Mitch could tell 25 R's to stay home, let 6 or 7 vote to convict, all Democrats, and Trump would be convicted and removed w/out nervous nelly Republicans all having to go on record.

Allowing vulnerable 2022 candidates and those like romney to vote to convict without actually doing any real harm.

They have a fig leaf and we don't get anything but some bipartisan support.

One short is as good as 17 short.
