Anyone can sign up, and while hardcore sports fans are more conservative than overall society, there are liberals there too.
It would be impossible to use them for a purpose like this.

I only look at the section where there is legit sports talk but usually there is a section titled political stuff or similar. I could see that being a complete cesspool. Sports fans I think tend to be farther to the right although plenty of lefties love sports.
